Apple has launched the iPhone 16e as the most affordable model in the iPhone 16 series, priced at ₹59,900 in India. It retains many features of the iPhone 14, including the chassis and notch display but introduces the new Action Button. With Apple’s C1 modem and efficient battery management, the iPhone 16e balances performance and affordability.

1. iPhone 16e: The Budget Entry in the iPhone 16 Series

Apple surprised fans by launching the iPhone 16e instead of the anticipated iPhone SE 4. While not an entry-level iPhone, it is the most affordable model in the iPhone 16 lineup. Priced at ₹59,900, it sits ₹20,000 lower than the standard iPhone 16. Available in White and Black, the iPhone 16e provides a cost-effective option for users wanting the latest Apple features without paying for premium design upgrades.

2. Familiar Chassis with an Action Button

The iPhone 16e borrows its chassis from the iPhone 14, maintaining a well-known design. However, instead of the traditional mute switch, Apple has added the customisable Action Button, previously seen in the iPhone 15 Pro models. This allows users to quickly access shortcuts like opening the camera, enabling Do Not Disturb, or activating voice recording.

3. Notch Display Instead of Dynamic Island

Unlike other iPhone 16 models that feature Apple’s Dynamic Island, the iPhone 16e retains the notch design from older models. It sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, similar to the iPhone 14. This makes it a familiar choice for users who prefer a tried-and-tested design while still enjoying a high-quality OLED screen.

4. Apple’s First C1 Modem for Faster 5G

One of the biggest technological upgrades in the iPhone 16e is Apple’s C1 modem, the company’s first in-house modem for 5G connectivity. Designed to be more power-efficient than previous modems, it provides better network reliability and faster speeds while improving battery life. This makes the iPhone 16e a smart choice for users who prioritize strong connectivity.

5. Efficient Power Management with iOS 18

With iOS 18 and Apple’s internal optimizations, the iPhone 16e offers improved battery life compared to older models. The combination of the C1 modem, advanced power management, and the latest Apple silicon ensures that users get an efficient and long-lasting smartphone experience, even though the device lacks the Pro-level battery features of higher-end iPhones.

The iPhone 16e is a well-balanced choice for users who want a new iPhone without the flagship price tag. By offering key Apple features in a cost-effective package, it provides a fresh alternative for those upgrading from older iPhones.
