The Cupertino based tech giant Apple has decided to roll out the iOS 16.4 update for iPhones. Though there are not major differences or substantial features. Some of the tools might be useful for the regular users.
To start with, there are 31 new emojis with the latest iOS update. Another feather in the list is the voice isolation for cellular calls as well. This feature debuted with the iOS 15, but back then it was just for the FaceTime.
iOS 16.4 for Following iPhone Models
One has to manually update the download by going to the Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 16.4 update is available to users with these iPhone models:
iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone SE (3rd generation), and iPhone SE (2nd generation).
iOS 16.4 Features
There are 31 more new emojis, which includes a new smiley, animals like a moose and a goose, and new heart colours, like pink and light blue.
The voice isolation feature is also available to use. Start a regular call and then pull down the Control Center by dragging it down diagonally from the top-right corner of the screen. Tap the Mic Mode button at the top and select the Voice Isolation option.
In order to save storage, iPhone users can easily merge duplicate photos. iOS 16.4 will show you all the duplicates across albums when you share photos with family or friends via iCloud.
There are some minor changes to the interface on the Music app as well. For instance, there will be a small banner, instead of a full-screen pop-up when a new song is added to the queue.
For the iPhone 14 Pro models, there are focus mode filters. Available in the Motion in Settings, iOS 16.4 also adds a Dim Flashing Lights feature in the Dim Flashing Lights.
Apart from iOS 16.4, Apple has started rolling out iPadOS 16.4 updates for iPad. iPad users can enjoy similar features as iPhone users. Apple is rolling out tvOS 16.4 for Apple TVs and macOS Ventura 13.3 for Mac computers.
