Recently graduated engineers are being asked to submit handwritten code, longer interviews, psychometric tests, higher scores, and strong communication skills to Indian technology companies.

Indian IT Companies Asking Hand Written Codes During Interviews Due To AI Scare

In response to the multi-decadal low in headcount addition in the $250 billion Indian IT industry, strict selection criteria were implemented.

Graduate Engineers Required To Submit Handwritten Code

Placement departments in engineering colleges have observed a rise in demand from IT firms, who are looking for coding expertise and expert-level skills. Companies are setting higher standards for qualifications, making the selection process for IT jobs more challenging.

Since employers now expect even entry-level workers to interact with clients, communication skills have become essential for these workers. Indian IT companies are increasingly interviewing candidates with questions akin to those posed by international behemoths like Amazon.

Employers are emphasizing skill-based hiring, and having expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) is especially valued. Data science, machine learning, big data, cyber-security, full stack, and DevOps are additional highly sought-after skills.

Demands of The Industry

By matching the demands of the industry with their training programs and course curricula, educational institutions are responding to these changes. A comprehensive strategy involving universities, businesses, the government, and the ed-tech ecosystem can close the employability-skills gap.

For example, Amity Education Group has alumni and industry experts advising the college on course offerings. For the past five years, Amity has incorporated machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) into its curriculum.

Online short-term courses are being added to the curricula of Indian students. Every industry is predicted to be disrupted by artificial intelligence (AI), which will also raise the need for talent. Companies will probably continue to impose strict selection criteria for IT jobs as long as demand pressures persist.

The mid-size SUV coupe, known as the Curvv, will be available from Tata Motors in gasoline, diesel, and all-electric configurations. With the Creta facelift, Hyundai Motor India recently saw its highest monthly sales ever.

Employers are prolonging the hiring process; it can now take three to four months. Recruiting officials are inviting more companies to campuses in an effort to address the low hiring rates.
