Hyundai Exter will be officially launched on July 10 and its bookings are already open at authorised dealerships.
Launch
Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said,

After receiving a terrific customer response on the images released so far, we are delighted to announce that Hyundai EXTER will be launched in India on 10th of July this year.”
Variants, options
It will be available in a total of five trim levels namely EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect.
Further there will be 6 Monotone and 3 Dual tone exterior colour options including 2 New and Exclusive colors – Cosmic Blue, Ranger Khaki which are also available with Dual tone colour options.
Highlights
The automaker said that Exter will come with a smart electric sunroof and dashcam with dual camera, a first in its segment.
It enters the sub-compact SUV segment and will rival Tata Punch, Maruti Fronx, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, among others.
The micro SUV will be slotted below the Venue compact SUV.
The five-seater will share the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios and Aura.
Voice control
Entry trim features include six airbags as standard.
The second-largest car producer showed off segment-first features like the voice-enabled electric sunroof and dashcam with a dual camera setup.
The smart electric sunroof will respond to voice commands like “Open Sunroof” or “I want to see the sky”.
Dashcam
Further there is a dashcam with dual camera with a front and rear camera setup, a 5.84 cm LCD Display and smartphone app based connectivity and multiple recording modes.
The dashcam also supports full HD video resolution and allows users to capture pictures from both the front and rear cameras.
The different recording options available are Driving (Normal), Event (Safety) and Vacation (Timelapse) to enhance the driving experience.
Powertrain, transmission
EXTER will be powered by 1.2 l Kappa Petrol engine (E20 Fuel Ready) and will be available with 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) and Smart Auto AMT versions.
The factory-fitted CNG variant will only be available with a five-speed MT.
It will compete directly against Tata Punch along with Citroen C3 and base variants of Kiger and Magnite.
Booking, pricing
Customers will be able to now book Hyundai EXTER at Hyundai Dealerships across India or on their online platforms at Rs 11,000.
According to a Times of India report, prices are expected to start from Rs 6 lakh.
