Honda Strikes Gold With Elevate: Sales In India At 12-Month High Due To Elevate's Positive Response!

Success Story: Honda Elevate SUV Ignites Sales Surge in India’s Festive Season

Yuichi Murata, who serves as the Director of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, credited the company’s recent achievements to the successful launch of the brand-new Honda Elevate SUV. This SUV has generated significant attention and has played a pivotal role in bolstering the company’s impressive sales figures during the festive period. Additionally, well-established models such as the Honda City and Amaze maintain their strong performance within their specific market segments.

Yuichi Murata expressed optimism about the upcoming festive season in India, citing the strong demand witnessed in the automotive industry. Given the extended festive period this year, he anticipates that this positive momentum will persist.

Honda Cars India’s Impressive Sales Performance and Export Challenges in September 2023

Year-on-year analysis: In September 2023, Honda Cars India achieved domestic sales of 9,861 units, compared to 8,714 units in the same month of the previous year (September 2022). This represents a remarkable year-on-year growth of 13.2 percent.

Month-to-month analysis: In August of the same year, the company sold 7,880 units, indicating a significant month-to-month increase of 25.1 percent when compared to the September 2023 sales figure.

However, there was a notable decline in exports. In September 2022, Honda Cars India exported 2,333 units, whereas in September 2023, this number dropped to 1,310 units. This decline of 1,023 units marked a year-on-year decrease of 43.84 percent in exports.

Despite this decline in exports, Honda Cars India appears to be on a promising trajectory. The launch of the all-new Elevate mid-size SUV, the first-ever made-in-India global SUV from the brand, bodes well for the company’s future. The Honda Elevate is gaining recognition as a formidable competitor to popular compact SUVs in India, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
