Honda Cars India has recalled a total of 92,672 cars across several models in order to address potential issues in its older and existing models. This recall includes the 90,468 units initially flagged, along with an additional 2,204 cars previously fitted with replacement parts.
What Broke Down?
The issue lies with the defective impellers that are present within the fuel pump, which may cause the engine to stall or fail to start. The automaker has ensured its customers that no charges shall be taken and the replacement shall be offered freely dealerships nationwide on November 5, 2024.
Honda is directly reaching out to their customers and in addition to this, customers can confirm eligibility by entering their VIN on Honda’s website.
In addition to this, the customers who had purchased a spare fuel pump between June 2017 and October 2023 are advised to have their cars inspected.
Honda Recalls Various Models Including Amaze, City, and Accord Due to Fuel Pump Issues
Models that are recalled by Honda include the likes of Amaze, City, BR-V, Jazz, Brio, WR-V, and Accord, spanning both active and discontinued models.
The models that are affected are manufactured between August 2017 and June 2018.
The latest recall includes 2204 units include across models like the Accord, Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Civic, Jazz, and WR-V.
The earlier phase of this recall covered 18,851 units of the Amaze manufactured between September 2017 and June 2018, as well as 32,872 units of the City produced from September 2017 to June 2018.
