ISRO Launches Heaviest Payload Rocket, LVM3 With 36 Satellites Onboard
The rocket is the second mission for Network Access Associates Limited, United Kingdom (OneWeb Group Business) under a business arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) to launch 72 satellites into Low-Earth Orbits. It weighs 643 tonnes and is 43.5 meters tall.
On October 23, 2022, the LVM3-M2/OneWeb India-1 mission launched the first batch of 36 satellites. With this mission, LVM3, 36 OneWeb Gen-1 satellites weighing roughly 5,805 kg will be launched into an orbit with a radius of 450 km and an inclination of 87.4 degrees. LVM3 has completed six flights, the most recent of which was its fifth consecutively successful mission, which included the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
Governments, companies, and communities can connect to OneWeb, a worldwide communication network powered by space. India’s Bharti Enterprises is a significant investor and shareholder in OneWeb and is putting in place a network of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.
OneWeb has launched 18 times, including three times this year, totaling 618 satellites in its constellation. With so many satellites now in orbit, the business has achieved a significant milestone with this launch, making it the first LEO operator to do so. OneWeb is shortly going to be prepared to launch its global coverage.
An important accomplishment for both OneWeb and ISRO was the LVM3’s successful launch, which carried 36 OneWeb satellites on board. As a result of the collaboration between the two organisations, OneWeb’s global communication network has continued to grow and 72 satellites have been successfully launched into Low-Earth Orbits.
OneWeb is one step closer to accomplishing its objective of delivering global coverage and enabling connectivity for governments, companies, and communities around the world with its most recent launch.
