Kindly help us understand the inception idea and journey till now of Simplify3X.
The leadership team, with significant cumulative experience in handling numerous large-scale testing projects across domains, believed it imperative to unite and streamline software testing for optimization, speed, and reliable quality releases. We embraced all listed challenges, prioritized areas for focus, and devised a unique solution with distinct USPs. Commencing operations in 2016, we began modestly with a single customer who granted us an opportunity to implement our approach to test automation in the HCM domain. In the initial two years, our emphasis lay on expediting test automation through simplification, assigning importance to script-less automation. This approach aimed to empower any functional test engineer or business analyst to automate the necessary functional test executions. Subsequently, we successfully onboarded additional customers in India, facilitating the acceleration of their test automation journeys.
Expanding our scope, we incorporated the entire test life cycle management into our platform. In 2018, we officially registered Simplify3X as a new company, and the platform took shape with the capability to support the automation of Web, Mobile, Mainframe, and Desktop applications—all within the same platform. We broadened our reach by welcoming customers from the United States and Malaysia, ensuring a seamless journey. Our commitment to supporting automation in the Mainframe environment led us to collaborate with a prominent health giant, providing us with the essential strength to continually attract a multitude of customers.
What are the challenges that you have observed in the software testing segment?
We faced quite a few challenges on our journey, and a handful of them really made a difference:
- Proving ROI Struggles:
One common stumbling block in failed automation journeys was the team’s difficulty in showing a solid return on investment (ROI) for all the efforts they’d put into test automation in their projects.
- Dealing with Quick Changes:
Handling changes in project requirements and making sure that the automated tests kept working smoothly through every version change was a big headache. It demanded a speedy turnaround time.
- Juggling Different Environments and Tools:
When the software under test had various environments, we needed different tools. Unfortunately, there weren’t any easy interfaces between these tools. Trying to automate end-to-end scenarios with a mix of mobile, web, and mainframe processes? Not easy with just one tool.
- Test Lifecycle Tools Falling Short:
The standard test lifecycle management tools were good with requirements, test cases, planning, scheduling, and defect management. But when it came to automation, they weren’t up to the task. We often had to resort to different tools for that.
What we noticed here was a gap in the market—a lack of a single solution covering multi-environment test automation and handling the whole test lifecycle. That gap became our golden opportunity to step into the market and offer a solution that wasn’t there before.

Our goal was to build a diverse and substantial community of users, navigating through their experiences and continually addressing the new challenges they encounter in test engineering. One of our ongoing initiatives involves incorporating AI into the testing space. We aim to amass a multitude of accelerators to mold our platform into a comprehensive solution for all challenges related to software testing in various focused domains, including Healthcare, BFSI, ERP, and beyond.
