Additionally, we are adopting fuel-efficient vehicles to reduce the carbon footprint, going the paperless way to streamline operations and reduce waste, and implementing compact packaging techniques to optimize space usage. We are also looking at offering partial containers where a customer can use only part of the container for transport and thus many customers goods can be carried together thus saving cost for the customer and making the trip more cost effective and eco-friendly. The holistic approach ensures that the commitment to sustainability remains both beneficial and cost-effective while meeting the growing demand for eco-conscious moving solutions.

Even as the global relocation industry looks to drive greater adoption of technology, barring big pan-India players, most of the P&M players face technology challenges. 

These include:

  • Poorly architected infrastructure and underutilisation of IT resources at collection points and warehouses are the biggest reasons for P&M players struggling to streamline their supply chains.
  • The inadequate information technology infrastructure in the logistics industry and across warehouses makes the implementation of third-party logistics technology a challenging task.
  • The industry continues to struggle with the lack of standardised hardware or software solutions. This increases technology rollout costs.
  • Lack of technology-powered security systems in warehouses and transport fleets results in the loss of goods and poses a higher risk of theft and fraud.
  1. Can you anticipate any impending regulatory or compliance changes that might influence the relocation industry, either at the local or global level? 

Since the relocation business is not considered an industry by the government there are no regulations or compliance applicable which is why it is a business which subject to a lot of scams and fraudulent activity. There are several associations which have been formed by packers and movers and relocation companies to introduce structure in this business. However it is critical that the government acknowledges this an industry for change to really take place.

Internationally the FIDI, IAM bodies ensure that there are compliances to be adhered to and becoming a member of these associations is coveted by all packers and movers who want to do business internationally.
