Dongpo Paper, a Chinese paper-making company, has implemented a groundbreaking policy that underscores the company’s commitment to employee well-being.

Employees Must Run 50 Kms To Get 100% Bonus In This Company: 30 Kms Running Means Only 30% Bonus!

Read on to find out all the details!

Dongpo Paper Implements New Policy For Employee Well-Being

Departing from conventional performance-based annual bonuses, Dongpo Paper now embraces a unique approach where monthly bonuses are intricately tied to the physical activities undertaken by its staff.

The rationale behind this innovative initiative is rooted in the belief that the long-term success and endurance of a company are intricately linked to the health and vitality of its workforce.

Under the new policy, employees are rewarded based on the distance they cover through various physical exercises. The specific criteria include running distances such as 50km, 40km, and 30km, each associated with a corresponding percentage of the monthly bonus. Remarkably, achieving a notable milestone of 100km entitles the employee to an additional 30% bonus atop the standard monthly reward.

This unique scheme also encompasses different forms of exercise, recognizing mountain hiking and speed walking as valuable contributions to employees’ overall fitness. Each of these activities contributes a specific percentage towards the total exercise required to qualify for the bonus.

Company To Install Dedicated App on Smartphones of Employees

The company has facilitated the monitoring of these physical activities by installing a dedicated app on employees’ smartphones to accurately track the distance covered.

Lin Zhiyong, the leader of Dongpo Paper, emphasizes the philosophy that “a company can last long when its employees are healthy.” Lin, leading by example, has climbed Mount Everest twice, demonstrating a personal commitment to the values he promotes within the company.

Employees have responded positively to this innovative policy, recognizing its dual benefits of promoting health and financial rewards. One employee expressed how the scheme effectively “kills two birds with one stone,” offering both improved health and financial incentives. Another highlighted the positive impact on personal health, citing a reduction in blood sugar levels as a direct result of participating in the incentivized exercise program. Dongpo Paper’s forward-thinking approach to employee well-being stands out as a notable example in the corporate landscape, aligning financial incentives with holistic health and vitality.
