A trial run began on the Bandikui-Jaipur Link Expressway on Wednesday, connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jaipur.
The new expressway will reduce the travel time from Jaipur to Delhi to just 2.5 to 3 hours.

Trial Run Begins on Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway, Cutting Jaipur-Delhi Travel to 3 Hours
The trial started at 8 a.m., and no toll will be charged during the ten-day trial period.
The expressway is undergoing quality checks and testing of facilities during the trial to identify and fix any shortcomings before official toll collection begins.
On the first day, the expressway was opened directly for traffic.
The Khuri Interchange is now operational to manage traffic from the Manoharpur-Kauthun highway.
If the trial run proceeds smoothly, traffic from other interchanges will be allowed on the expressway within a day or two.
The expressway is a four-lane, 67-kilometre-long, access-controlled road stretching from Bandikui in Dausa district to Jaipur in Rajasthan.
The construction of the expressway was completed ahead of schedule.
Vehicles will be allowed to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Once fully operational, the expressway will reduce travel time between Bandikui and Jaipur to 25–30 minutes, down from over an hour.
This reduction will further shorten the overall Jaipur to Delhi journey time.
Travel time from Gurugram to Bandikui will also drop to just three hours due to the expressway’s link with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The expressway connects with multiple routes, including the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Manoharpur-Kauthun Highway via the Khuri Interchange, with more interchanges to open soon based on trial results.
“All preparations for toll collection are complete. As soon as we receive the green signal from higher authorities, toll operations will commence,” said B.S. Joiya, Project Director, NHAI Dausa Unit.
The 66.91-km Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway has been built at a cost of ₹1,368 crore, according to NHAI officials.
During the trial phase, all vehicles except tractors, motorcycles, and other restricted categories are allowed to use the road without interruption.
Proposed toll rates for private cars include:
- ₹150 for the Jaipur–Bandikui stretch (66.91 km),
- ₹550–₹560 for the Jaipur–Bandikui–Sohna route,
- ₹130 for the Sohna–Gurugram six-lane highway,
- ₹680–₹690 in total between Jaipur and Delhi.
The expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time once fully functional.
