The buzz around iPhones suddenly had to share its spotlight with another new entry which comes from the Xiaomi flagship.

Xiaomi Launching 17 Series

During the times when Apple fans have been going wild over the iPhone 17 Pro, Xiaomi appears to have quietly dropped its own bombshell in the form of the brand-new Xiaomi 17 series which is officially heading to India.

This development came earlier this month when Xiaomi made this announcement at a local event.

It seems that the smartphone maker is trying to keep the dates under wraps but its news alone has already set tech circles buzzing.

The phones are not completely new though.

This series was already unveiled in China just last week, where fans got the first taste of what the new flagship series looks like.

Considering the experience, it is safe to say, expectations are sky-high.Out of this 17 lineup,  the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is of course making the headlines.

This smartphone not only looks premium but also comes with a secondary screen at the back.

It’s like flipping your phone around and finding another display waiting for you.

Besides this, it also has a gaming-focused case with controls, and Xiaomi has clearly aimed this one at those who want a little extra drama from their phone.

Interestingly, the mobilephone manufacturer hasn’t said a word about whether the Pro and Pro Max models will reach Indian buyers.

The rumours earlier suggested that these might remain exclusive to China but it happens, Indian fans may have to wait for something like a ‘Xiaomi 17 Ultra’, a possible global special edition.

A Cause Of Excitement In Indian Buyers

Please note here that the standard Xiaomi 17, which will almost certainly land in India, is not lightweight either.

Further, this smartphone comes with the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful mobile processor.

It appears to be the same silicon that top brands will be using in their flagships over the next year, so Xiaomi clearly has a head start.

If you pair it with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, then you’re looking at a beast of a phone.

When it comes to the display, this smartphone carries a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, perfect for gamers and binge-watchers alike.

For the photography lovers, they will definitely find joy in the 50MP triple-camera setup tuned with Leica lenses.

In case you live life on their phones then  Xiaomi has gone really big this time with a 7,000mAh battery this year. So, charging won’t be a headache either.

The smartphone comes with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. These numbers sound futuristic even today.

Coming to the pricing, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to start around ₹75,000 with all the bells and whistles.

The analysts are expecting that this tag could creep closer to ₹85,000 in India which still undercuts Apple’s Pro models.
