Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch an all-new SUV on September 3, 2025. Officially named Victoris, the SUV will be larger than the Brezza and sold via Arena dealerships. Once launched, it will likely become the most premium product in Arena’s portfolio, bridging the gap between the Brezza and Nexa’s Grand Vitara.

Why Victoris Matters
The Victoris is internally codenamed Y17 and is based on Suzuki’s Global C-platform, which also underpins the Grand Vitara. This SUV is crucial because Arena currently lacks a bigger option above Brezza. Positioned smartly, the Victoris will cater to customers in tier-2 and tier-3 markets seeking a family-friendly, feature-rich SUV without jumping to the more expensive Nexa range.
Features And Equipment
Maruti is packing the Victoris with tech and comfort. Expected highlights include a large touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, HUD, premium Dolby Atmos audio, ventilated seats, rear AC vents, connected car tech, and a powered tailgate. Safety will be comprehensive too, with multiple airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, hill descent control, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts, and more.
Engines And Variants
The Victoris will borrow its engine lineup from the Grand Vitara. This includes:
- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (103 PS)
- Strong hybrid petrol (116 hp)
- CNG variant (88 PS), with underbody-integrated tanks for better boot space
Both manual and automatic transmissions are expected. This diverse powertrain lineup should help Victoris appeal to a wide customer base.
Positioning And Price
The Victoris will compete directly with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate. Prices are expected to fall in the ₹9–18 lakh range, strategically avoiding overlap with the Nexa-sold Grand Vitara. This smart positioning will help Maruti capture SUV buyers at multiple price points while minimising cannibalisation.
Toyota’s Possible Twin
Given Suzuki’s alliance with Toyota, a rebadged Toyota version of the Victoris could also be in the pipeline. If launched, it would slot between the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Taisor, potentially reviving Toyota’s compact SUV portfolio.
