Features And Specifications For Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro(Expected)
Considering the nearing launch, the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro have been under the spotlight for quite some time.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro appeared on the Google website recently showcasing the back of the phone in a Porcelain color.
We can expect the design of the two phones to be consistent with their predecessors.
But, minor differences must be there, for instance, the Pro model is expected to have a flat display as opposed to a curved one in the vanilla model.
Moving ahead, the camera visor of the Pro model may have a single cutout for all lenses and include a temperature sensor.
Google’s third-generation in-house chipset will be used in these devices along with the Tensor G3, and should come with Android 14 pre-installed.
Besides this, we also expect camera enhancements for the Google Pixel 8 series this year.
Specifically, a new 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN2 primary sensor is anticipated, which is claimed to capture 35% more light than the GN1 sensors used in the Pixel 6 and 7 series.
In case of Google Pixel 8 Pro, it may feature a new 64MP ultra-wide sensor, while the Google Pixel 8 will likely retain the 12.2MP version.
Both the devices are expected to come with new software features such as the ability to control bokeh intensity and an adaptive torch to avoid overexposure.
For display, the Google Pixel 8 is expected to have a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro on the other hand is anticipated to have a 6.7-inch flat display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1600 nits.
When it comes to battery, both phones are expected to see a slight increase.
It is speculated that the Google Pixel 8 may have a 4,485mAh battery, and the Google Pixel 8 Pro a 4,950mAh battery.
Besides this, both devices are expected to have enhanced wired charging capabilities, with the Google Pixel 8 supporting 24W and the Google Pixel 8 Pro supporting 27W charging speeds.
They are expected to support 20W wireless charging, although Qi 2 charging speed will likely be limited to 12W.
