Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Delhi-NCR have been increased for the second time within 48 hours, pushing rates in the national capital above ₹80 per kilogram for the first time. The latest revision was announced by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL).

Following the latest ₹1 per kg hike, CNG in Delhi is now priced at ₹80.09 per kg. The increase comes just days after an earlier ₹2 per kg revision across several NCR regions.
NCR Cities Also Witness Price Increase
According to the revised rates announced by IGL, CNG prices have increased across multiple NCR cities. CNG now costs ₹88.70 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, while Gurugram rates stand at ₹85.12 per kg.
Other cities supplied by IGL, including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Hapur, and Kanpur, also recorded revised prices after the latest increase.
Global Energy Tensions Impact Fuel Costs
Reports said the latest CNG price revision comes amid volatility in global energy markets linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz.
Industry reports noted that higher imported gas costs and appreciation of the US dollar have also contributed to rising fuel prices in India.
Impact On Transport Sector
CNG is widely used by autos, taxis, buses, and commercial vehicles across Delhi-NCR. The latest price hikes are expected to increase operating costs for public transport operators and app-based cab services.
Transport associations and commuters are closely monitoring fuel price movements, as repeated hikes could eventually impact passenger fares and logistics expenses.
Petrol And Diesel Prices Also Increased Earlier
The latest CNG revision comes shortly after increases in petrol and diesel prices across several Indian cities. Reports noted that fuel costs have been under pressure due to rising crude oil prices in international markets.
CNG had earlier been considered a relatively economical fuel option compared to petrol and diesel, particularly for commercial transport users and daily commuters.
Summary
Delhi-NCR CNG prices have been increased for the second time in 48 hours, pushing rates in Delhi above ₹80 per kg for the first time. Indraprastha Gas Limited announced the latest ₹1 per kg hike amid global energy market volatility and rising imported gas costs. The increase is expected to raise transportation and operating expenses across the region.
