Citroen has introduced the eC3, an electric version of its ICE-powered C3 hatchback, in India, with a starting price of Rs. 11.5 lakhs.

We had reported earlier that the official bookings for the car were to begin by January 2023 and display and test drive vehicles will begin to arrive at dealer showrooms in February 2023.

The Citroen eC3 is already on sale for Rs. 25,000 and will be available in 25 cities across India.

Citroen eC3 EV launched in India; Starting Price Rs. 11.5 Lakh

The eC3 is available in two models: Live and Feel, both of which have similar features to the petrol model. The Live variant of the eC3 costs Rs. 11.5 lakh, while the Feel variant with dual-tone paint and Vibe Pack costs Rs. 12.43 lakh.

With base variants, the eC3 costs Rs. 5.52 lakh more than its ICE counterpart, the C3 hatchback, and Rs. 5.23 lakh more with top-spec variants.

Battery

The eC3 has a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor with a peak torque of 57 hp and 143 Nm. The eC3 accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 km/h. The ARAI-claimed range of the eC3 is 320 kilometres, and it comes with two charging options. 

The first is a DC fast charger capable of charging the battery pack from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes, and the second is a 3.3 kW onboard AC charger capable of CCS2 fast charging. The eC3 can also be charged at home, and it takes 10.5 hours to charge from 10% to 100%.

Features

The feel variant comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. 

The eC3 also receives connected car technology in the form of the MyCitroen Connect app, which includes 35 smart features that allow you to check the car’s charging status, location, driving behavior, and the nearest charging station.

In addition, the eC3 has dual airbags and ABS with EBD. Citroen provides a 7-year/1,40,000 km battery pack warranty, a 5-year/1,00,000 km electric motor warranty, and a 3-year/1,25,000 km electric hatchback warranty, with extended warranty options available.
