Citroen has launched the C3 Aircross in India.
It is the fourth model the French automobile giant has launched in the country.
Latest addition
It joins the ranks of the C5 Aircross SUV, C3 hatchback, and E-C3 electric hatchback in the Indian lineup.
It is produced at Citroen’s Thiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu and over 90% of its components are locally sourced.
It is positioned between the C3 and the C5 Aircross.
Prebookings, deliveries
Pre-bookings have already started with a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Deliveries are set to start on October 15.
Customers can avail the ‘Buy Now Pay in 2024’ with which customers can purchase the vehicle until October 31, with EMIs starting from 2024.
External features
The midsize SUV measures 4.3 meters in length and its wheelbase is 2,671 mm.
It has a ground clearance of 200 mm and comes with a 511-litre boot (with the third row of seats removed).
It features Citroen’s signature grille design with a split headlamp setup and V-shaped LED daytime running lights.
The rear closely resembles the smaller C3.
It gets 4-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels and is equipped with the brand’s “Advanced Comfort” suspension.
Exterior features include halogen reflector headlights with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark fin antenna, and a dual-tone roof option.
Interior
Inside, it features three rows of seats and can seat up to 7 people.
It offers two seating configurations — a standard 5-seater layout and a 5+2-seater layout with a removable third row of seats.
The base variant, You, is only available as a 5-seater.
The Plus and Max variants offer both seating configurations.
Interior features
The dashboard is also similar to the C3 and features a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
It comes with a digital instrument cluster, air-conditioning with a roof-mounted blower, auto stop/start, electronic stability program, hill hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Powertrain
It is powered by Citroen’s globally acclaimed 1.2-litre Gen-3 Turbo PureTech petrol engine that makes 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm @ 1,750 rpm.
It boasts an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.5kmpl.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
