BMW Motorrad is the two-wheeler division of the German luxury car maker, has launched the BMW CE 04 electric scooter in India. Powered by a 15 kW electric motor, it promises a range of 130 km and a top speed of 120 km/h. This flagship electric scooter, imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU). It will be the most expensive in its segment.

The BMW CE 04 is BMW Motorrad’s inaugural electric scooter in India, constructed on a steel double-loop frame and equipped with cutting-edge technology and safety features. Its futuristic design features large aprons and a wide, flat bench-like seat. The scooter’s dimensions are 2,285mm in length and 855mm in width, with a seat height of 780mm that can be adjusted to 800mm. It rides on 15-inch wheels at both the front and rear.

The BMW CE 04 boasts a 10.25-inch TFT display that enhances connectivity and navigation through BMW Motorrad Connectivity. It also has a USB Type-C charger and ventilated storage space for smartphones, along with a helmet storage compartment. The scooter offers three riding modes: Road, Rain, and Eco, to suit different conditions. Optional safety features include dynamic traction control and the ABS Pro system, while standard safety features include ACS and traction control. The suspension setup includes a single bridge telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided swing arm with a direct-hinged suspension strut at the rear.

The BMW CE 04 is powered by a 15 kW electric motor, delivering a peak power of 41 hp at 4,900 rpm and 61 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120 km/h. The braking system features 265mm discs at both the front and rear, with standard ABS. An 8.9 kWh battery powers the scooter, offering a range of 130 km on a single charge. The battery supports DC fast charging, achieving 0-100% in 1 hour 40 minutes, and takes just over 4 hours for a full charge with a standard charger.

As India’s priciest electric scooter, the BMW CE 04 stands unrivaled in its category. Bookings are currently open, and customers can place orders through select authorized BMW Motorrad dealerships. Following this launch, BMW intends to bring the CE 02 to India in the upcoming months.
