Reportedly, the coming month of June 2024 is packed with almost 12 scheduled bank holidays on account of various religious holidays, regional celebrations and the weekend leaves.

Yes, You heard right! All national and private banks in the country, including the State Bank of India (SBI), have at least 12 days of holidays in June 2024.

It is noteworthy here that these holidays are mainly dependent on their regional festivities. 

If you are wondering about the Saturdays, this includes the second and fourth Saturdays in the month along with  off on Sundays.

Interestingly, this month has five Sundays. 

The bank customers also need to keep a note that non-working days across states differ due to regional celebrations and festivals.

So, before planning ahead, the users should check and confirm all listed holidays with their nearest bank branch. 

This will also help in planning in a better way while avoiding last-minute confusion and emergencies.

It appears that the country’s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the corresponding state governments set the banks’ holiday calendar for the year.

Full List Of Bank Holidays in June 2024

1. June 9 – The Maharana Pratap Jayanti holiday in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

2. June 10 – The Martyrdom Day holiday of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji in Punjab.

3. June 14 – Holiday in Odisha for Pahili Raja. 

4. June 15 – The north-eastern state of Mizoram will be closed for YMA Day; and banks in Odisha will be closed for Raja Sankranti. 

5. June 17 – On the occasion of Bakri Eid banks will remain closed across India, except in some states.

6. June 21 – Holiday across many states for Vat Savitri Vrat.

Bank Holidays List For Weekends

Notably, the banks will remain closed on the second Saturday across India on June 8.

Next, they will be closed on the fourth Saturday across India on June 22.

Besides this the bank holidays on Sundays across India will fall on June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

While bank employees will continue to enjoy their time during holidays, the online banking will remain uninterrupted regardless of bank holidays and the weekends for customers convenience.
