In Q4 of FY2024–2025, Bajaj Auto’s Chetak emerged as the top-selling electric scooter in India. Bajaj sold a record 34,863 units in March 2025, averaging more than 1,124 units every day.

Bajaj Sells More Than 1K Units Daily in March
Throughout the quarter, Bajaj held a 29% market share in electric scooters. Chetak’s yearly sales increased by 116% to 2,30,761 units from 1,06,624 units the year before.
The introduction of the Chetak 29 Series and Chetak 35 Series, which together accounted for over 2 lakh units in 2024, is primarily to blame for the growth.
With batteries built into the floorboard, the Chetak 35 Series is constructed on a new platform. It has a 3.5kWh battery with a 153-kilometer range. The scooter can be charged from 0% to 80% in 3 hours using a 950W onboard charger.
The scooter’s 4kW electric motor allows it to travel up to 73 kmph. A wider floorboard, a longer seat, and 35 liters of under-seat storage are examples of design improvements. A distinctive feature in the EV market, the scooter’s all-metal body is still present.
It has a touchscreen TFT display with controls for calls, music, and navigation. Geo-fencing, accident detection, theft alerts, and overspeed warnings are examples of smart and safe features.
In India, Bajaj has a vast dealership network that includes 3,800 service workshops, 4,000 sales locations, and 507 towns.
