With the start of summer vacation in the country, everyone starts making plans for tourist places to visit.

Record High Searches For These Destinations

In one such development, Ayodhya, Lakshadweep, and Nandi Hills are among the domestic destinations which has recorded the highest growth in searches this summer.

Besides these locations, Goa remains the most-searched destination, as per the information provided by MakeMyTrip’s summer travel trends.

The trend which was released on Wednesday indicated the preferences of Indian travelers this summer.

These results are calculated by analyzing the data for March-April 2024 and it is further compared with the data for the same period last year.

When it comes to the pilgrimage destinations, Puri and Varanasi are the most searched this summer.

Notably, Ayodhya continues to record growth in search volumes, as per these trends.

What About International Destinations?

In case of International destinations, they have recorded the highest growth in searches with the destinations such as Baku, Almaty, and Nagoya, even as Luxembourg, besides these, Langkawi, and Antalya are also gaining traveler interest, as showcased in the infographic released by MakeMyTrip.

There is a boost in the family travel segment as it recorded a  growth of 20 percent in comparison with during the same time period in summer 2023.

Similarly, solo travel has also grown 10 per cent during the analysis period.

The trends also reveal the tariff of ₹2,500 to ₹7,000 per night continues to comprise around 45 percent of all homestay bookings.

 “Summer is always one of the biggest quarters of the year in terms of travel intent, and this year too, the buoyancy in the sector continues. We are observing a healthy growth in searches over those recorded last year at this time,” said the MakeMyTrip Co-Founder and Group CEO Rajesh Magow while talking about these trends.
