The iPhone maker, Apple, seems to be way behind in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technology when various smartphone companies such as Google and Samsung have already entered the race.
Lagging Behind In AI Adaption
Although Apple has been hinting at its generative AI, but the firm seems to be taking a long time to introduce it to the public.
This in turn is causing the iPhone users to question the direction Apple is taking on this new technology.
Prior to this, CEO Tim Cook announced that in 2024 Apple will be rolling out AI features on iPhones via the iOS 18 update, in a recent interview.
Further adding, “As we look ahead, we will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future. That includes artificial intelligence, where we continue to spend a tremendous amount of time and effort, and we’re excited to share the details of our ongoing work in that space later this year.”
While that happens, in the meantime, let’s check out the 5 speculated Apple AI features we can witness this year.
Apple AI Anticipated Features
1. Soon, Apple will be announcing its biggest operating system update with iOS 18 according to Apple Analyst Mark Gurman. With this update, they plan to bring an enhanced Siri voice assistant.
2. It is most likely that users may see the integration of LLM (large language models) to Siri which will make it a digital assistant like ChatGPT. So, the user can definitely expect conversational tools with upcoming upgrades to the iPhone.
3. The company may plan to introduce these AI features to various iPhone apps including Messages, Apple Music and Pages.
4. They can also introduce some AI features for video and photography. Although, it might not be as significant as the Samsung Galaxy S24 AI camera capabilities. But you could see it as a step forward for Apple as it is on its journey to upscale its game to bridge the AI technology gap with other devices.
5. Future may see Apple revealing its AI initiatives and features of the upcoming iPhone generation and other devices at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) along with what’s coming to the iOS 18 update.
