8 Biggest Car Manufacturers Announce Price Hike From April: Tata, Maruti, Mahindra, Honda & More

Why Would This Happen?

The car manufacturer has reasoned these price hikes to rising input and commodity prices along with escalating operational expenses.

While this is happening, let’s go through the brand-specific overview of the forthcoming price adjustments.

List Of Brands Increasing Prices For Their Offering

1. To start with, India’s largest car manufacturer,

Maruti Suzuki has also announced price increases across its full model range.

So far, the exact amount is still undisclosed.

Interestingly, this is Maruti Suzuki’s third price hike of 2025 following increases in January (4 per cent) and February (1 per cent to 4 per cent).

2. Similarly, Tata Motors will also be raising the prices by 3 percent across all ICE, CNG and electric models including the Nexon, Punch, Curvv, Harrier, Safari, Tigor, Tiago, Altroz and Tata’s electric lineup.

The increase in prices is necessary to counteract rising input costs marking Tata’s second price rise in 2025 according to the brand.

3. Following the trend, Mahindra & Mahindra will also be  increasing the prices for its SUV and commercial vehicle range by up to 3 per cent.

So far this is the second time Mahindra will be raising prices in 2025.

4. Hyundai car manufacturer will also be raising the prices by up to 3 per cent across its full lineup, ranging from the Grand i10 to the Ioniq.

Notably, these price rises may also impact the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

5. Similar to the other brands, Kia will be  increasing the prices by as much as 3 percent across its entire lineup.

6. As per the trend, Honda will also be  implementing a price hike for its entire range, including the Amaze, City, City e:HEV, and Elevate.

The company has not revealed the specific increase in percentage yet.

This is going to be the second price adjustment in 2025 after an increase in January.

7. Contrary to the others, Renault plans to increase prices by up to 2 percent for its lineup including Kiger, Kwid and Triber, attributing the rise to higher input costs.

This is significant as unlike others, this is the first price adjustment since February 2023.

8. Like most of the other brands, BMW raised their prices by up to 3 per cent for all models, including the BMW 2 Series, BMW XM, MINI Cooper S and Countryman.

This price hike holds a significance as BMW is the first luxury brand to announce a price increase in the new financial year.
