In the next 3–5 months, India’s electric vehicle (EV) market is set for a major shake-up with the launch of several much-awaited models from Maruti Suzuki, Tata, MG, and Kia. Most of these were unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo and will soon hit showrooms across the country.

Maruti e-Vitara and Tata Sierra EV to Lead India’s Next Electric SUV Wave in 2025
Maruti e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, will launch in September 2025. Manufactured in Gujarat, it will also be exported globally. It will feature two battery options—49 kWh and 61 kWh—with the larger pack offering over 500 km of range. Highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, and 7 airbags.
Tata Sierra EV marks the return of the iconic Sierra nameplate, now as an all-electric SUV. Slated for an October 2025 release, it will be offered in 4- and 5-seater layouts. The Sierra will share its 65 kWh and 75 kWh batteries with the Harrier EV, delivering an expected range of over 500 km on Tata’s Gen 2 Acti.ev platform.
MG Cyberster and Kia Clavis EV Set to Redefine Premium and Family EV Segments
MG Cyberster, a two-door electric convertible, is MG’s entry into the premium EV segment. Set to launch in August 2025, it comes with a 77 kWh battery, delivering 505 bhp and 725 Nm torque, and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. It will be sold via MG Select showrooms, with bookings already open.
Kia Carens Clavis EV will be India’s first 7-seater electric car. Based on the ICE version, it’s expected to feature 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, similar to the Hyundai Creta EV, offering a range of up to 473 km.
MG M9: The Presidential Limousine MPV Set to Redefine Luxury EV Travel
MG M9, branded as “The Presidential Limousine,” is a luxurious electric MPV featuring 16-way adjustable massage seats, dual panoramic sunroofs, ambient lighting, and a premium sound system. It will be retailed alongside the Cyberster via MG Select dealerships, with pre-bookings already underway.
