Reliance Jio Launches ISD, SMS & Speed Booster Packs!
Reliance Jio has now launched ISD, International roaming, SMS, and internet booster recharge packs for the users on its Happy New Year offer which came into effect from 1 January.
It is worth noting that earlier, under the Jio ‘Welcome Offer’ the users were getting 4 GB 4G data per day, post which the internet speed was capped to 128 Kbps, but now under the ‘Happy New Year’ offer the daily data limit has been reduced to 1 GB/day, keeping all the benefits intact.
Under this offer the users will get unlimited voice and video calling, 100 SMS/day even on roaming, free access to Jio’s suits of apps featuring premium content, and unlimited JioNet WiFi.
Please note that data consumed for making video calls and watching content would be deducted from your data balance. However, HD voice calls are absolutely free for life.
While 1 GB per day is more than sufficient for regular browsing and streaming, there are times when we need more than that. Keeping that in mind, and also for differentiating its ‘Happy New Year Offer’ from the ‘Welcome Offer’ Jio has launched these recharge packs for its subscribers.

Jio Combo and Booster Packs
These recharge packs can be availed only via the MyJio app and are for ISD and SMS facilities.
ISD & International Roaming Packs
The ISD pack valid for 28 days comes at a price of Rs. 501 and offers a talktime of Rs. 435.65 which can be used for making ISD calls while in India. Kindly visit Jio.com for knowing the prevailing ISD tariff. Jio has also launched an International roaming combo plan priced at Rs. 1,101 offering a talktime of Rs. 957.39 valid for 28 days.
Jio SMS Pack
The SMS pack is priced at Rs. 201 and offers Rs. 175.1 for sending SMSs anywhere in India (local/National) and abroad. The local/national SMS would be charged at 85p/SMS while the ISD SMS would be charged at Rs.5/SMS. This pack is also valid for 28 days.
Speed Booster Packs
If you are heavy data user and can’t make the full use of unlimited internet usage on JioNet WiFi, then you will need to recharge with Jio Speed Booster packs.
The entry-level booster pack comes with a validity of 1 day and offers 1 GB high-speed 4G data at a price of Rs. 51. In case you want a longer validity plan that offers large volume of data, then you should recharge with 6 GB data plan @ Rs. 301 which provides a validity of 28 days.
Jio Talktime Recharges
Jio has also announced the talktime recharges which would be valid from 1 April 2017.
Jio Apps Subscription Plans
Many of you might be addicted to Jio apps that let you watch premium content for free, but you will have to shell out dearly for them starting 1 April 2017.
All 8 Jio apps have individual monthly subscription charges and would run only when you’re on Jio network (LTE or WiFi). This would mean that will be paying for them both in terms of subscription charges as well as from your data balance.
I am not sure if such a steep pricing would fetch many takers for these apps. Jio should either wave off the subscription charges completely or stop deducting the data balance for their usage.
These Jio plans are not as affordable as we wished them to be, but that is harsh reality of any business. The ultimate business of business is to make profits, while remaining competitive in the market and Jio is doing just that by offering free voice and cheap data for life.
Whats with the Talktime. I thought reliance jio is offering unlimted free calls…
