These Can Be Xiaomi Redmi’s 1st Ever Wireless Charging Smartphones!

Leaks and rumors are not new in the world of electronic devices. One of the latest rumors is that Xiaomi’s sub brand, Redmi, will be launched a series of 2 devices.

These will be called S8, the internal code name for new Xiaomi devices.

Redmi To Launch S8 Series Phones?

This leak by Digital Chat Station is a bit cryptic and it talks about the changes in the immediate successors of the brand’s recently launched phones.

Redmi has recently introduced K50 Extreme Edition with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which sacrificed the wireless charging feature to fall under the US $450 price range.

If this news is true, both the devices of S8 series are expected to debut with “67W+30W” and “120W+30W,” which appear to be two separate charging profiles. Fans of Xiaomi charging technology will recognise the two bigger values as a selection of the company’s numerous internal wired standards, which have been in use for several generations already despite being particularly sophisticated in one instance.

The “30W” specification that is applicable to both new “Redmi K” devices may therefore relate to series-first wireless charging capabilities.

The latest Weibo post so indicates that a normal, presumably vanilla K60 will come with 67W wired charging, but its more expensive “K60 Pro” cousin retains the 120W speed of its predecessor but shares a new 30W specification with its vanilla brother. All the more reason to hope that in 2023, neither of them receives the Dynamic Island stick.

Redmi K50 and K50 Pro Relaunched As Mi 12X and Mi 12X Pro

We had previously reported that Redmi K50 Series has been teased with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 120W ultra fast charging and a “Dual Vapor Chamber” heat dissipation setup. Xiaomi confirmed that the 120W charging technology will charge a 4,7000mAh battery in just 17 minutes. Redmi K50 series will debut in February in China, while the devices will be rebranded in India. Poco F4 GT will come as a rebranded Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition in India.

Additionally, Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro will launch as Mi 12X and Mi 12X Pro. It also has been leaked that the upcoming Redmi K50 models will come with MIUI 13 out of the box.
