Incentives, equal opportunities

Over 6,300 people will be added to aid in the first-mile and mid-mile logistics, with another 3,000 plus hired for last-mile deliveries.

The Flipkart-owned company will provide incentives to delivery personnel with a maximum number of ‘five’ ratings from customers for their service.

The company has pledged to hire 2,500 women and 300 differently-abled personnel for roles in sorting, packing, picking, loading, unloading, delivery, and return inspection along with cargo fleet management in the major hubs of Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Highest festive additions

In all, the company will be hiring for around 10,000 direct roles, and 6,000 indirect roles.

This is the highest number of festive additions Myntra has made.

Last year during the festive season, Myntra had created around 11,000 jobs, it was reported.

Who stays and who goes?

Of the jobs to be offered this time, the hirings for the contact centre roles will be contractual.

The company is likely to retain around half of the hirings done in the supply chain positions.

Its new office in Bengaluru reportedly has a capacity of 2,600 people, a two-fold rise from its earlier office.

Back to regular festivities after 2 years

Chief human resources officer Nupur Nagpal said this year’s festivities will be on a much larger scale after nearly two years of being celebrated in close groups.

Accordingly it is preparing to cater to the high demand from customers.

This explains the growth in hiring numbers compared to previous years.

Upcoming sale event

Myntra recently announced its big fashion sale for the festive shopping season called the `Big Fashion Festival` (BFF) will be starting soon.

Reportedly, more than 6,000 brands will be part of the event which is a 50 per cent increase from last year.

During its 2022 flagship sale “End of Reason Sale” (EORS) in June it sold 50 lakh items daily.

It shipped 2.6 million items within the first 24 hours of the event and reported 70% growth in traffic during the event as compared to regular days.
