Teledensity in Delhi

The company, which is the third-largest telecom operator in India, added over 3.3 lakh subscribers in Delhi in March and April 2022.

The national capital continues to be the city with the maximum tele-density, witnessing a growth of 1.48% MoM, achieving a tele-density level of 269.08%.

Consecutive successes

It was also the third largest circle in India in terms of net subscriber addition in April, having added 4,00,479 users.

For two months straight, Vi has added the most subscribers in Delhi.

In April 2022, the telco added 2,55,857 subscribers in Delhi.

Telco with highest subscriber gains

It achieved the largest share of the circle’s overall net subscriber addition with 63.89%.

The company showed a similar trend in March as well, when it added 76,320 subscribers which was the highest amongst all the telcos.

Compared to rivals

However, during April the telco overall lost 1.56 million subscribers across the nation.

At the same time, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio added subscribers.

Despite all this, the number of active telecom subscribers decreased during the month for the entire industry, with all the operators losing VLR subscribers.

Going forward

Vi will have to capitalise on its wins in order to appease investors.

It managed to become the top operator in terms of subscriber additions in Delhi for two consecutive months.

It needs to keep this up and start performing in the other circles to continue its winning streak.
