Infosys Served 2nd Notice By Labour Ministry

We have received information that Infosys has been sent a 2nd notice related to the issue of resigned employees being stopped from working for their competitors.

This 2nd notice has been sent by Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Remis Tiru and addressed to Krish Shankar, Group Head-Human Resources Infosys.

1st as well as 2nd notice was served to Infosys, based on a public grievance made by Harpreet Singh Saluja, President Nascent IT Employees Senate (NITES).

The 2nd notice states: “In view of the above you are requested to make it convenient to attend the above mentioned joint discussion either personally or through an authorised representative well conversant with the issue on the above-scheduled date, time and venue,”

As we had reported earlier, Infosys has included a special clause in their offer letters, which bans ex-employees from working for their major competitors, in case the employees have worked on the same projects.

Why 2nd Notice?

After NITES complained to the Labor Ministry on this issue, a 1st notice was sent by Labour Commissioner to Infosys, demanding a reply.

But at that time, Infosys claimed that they haven’t received the grievance letter drafted by NITES.

In the 2nd notice, Labour Commissioner office has attached that grievance letter to remove all confusion.

Infosys has been ordered to reply by May 17th on this notice.

We will keep you updated as more news come in.
