Redmi Pad 5 is all set to be launched in India, but not with the same name – instead, it will be launched as a less-priced version of the Xiaomi Pad 5. 

However, there has been no confirmation from the smartphone manufacturer.

Redmi To Launch Affordable Tablet In India?

Rumors are that Redmi is working towards an affordable tablet, which will also include a plethora of features, especially for the Indian market. In fact, some major features of the Redmi Pad 5 have also appeared, which state that the tablet could be Qualcomm’s 5G processor and the display will have a 90 Hz refresh rate. 

As per reports,  Redmi Pad 5 will be priced at CNY 1,999 in China, which is around Rs. 23000. Whereas, the price of the Xiaomi Pad 5 is Rs. 26,999. The Redmi Pad 5 will probably cost lesser, and the projected price of Rs. 23000 seems to be well estimated. 

The Redmi Pad 5 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon which will offer 5G connectivity. The tablet would also support both SA and NSA modes on 5G networks. Coming to the battery of the pad, it will probably come with 30W fast-charging capabilities.

It would reportedly flaunt an ultra-linear quad-speaker setup for an immersive audio experience along with a Sony camera with AI features. The software on the Redmi Pad 5 might be MIUI PadOS 13.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor with Adreno 640 GPU running on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. It is backed by an 8,720mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.

Xiaomi Pad 5 price in China starts at RMB 1,999 (around Rs 24,000) for the 6GB model with 128GB Wi-Fi version. The top end model with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage with Wi-Fi is priced at RMB 2,299 (around Rs 27,600).

Xiaomi Pad 5 price in India will be around the China prices, but are expected to be more affordable.

Finally, the Xiaomi 12 Pro come in two variants: 8GB RAM with 256 GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256 GB storage. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered handset with a 6.73-inch AMOLED Quad HD+ 120Hz display, a 32-megapixel front camera, 50-megapixel triple rear cameras and a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
