The company has announced that vehicle prices will be increased in April 2022.
Maruti Suzuki To Increase Prices This Month?
MSIL has not yet disclosed the quantity of increase in prices but has planned to increase the price sometime later this month. Additionally, the price hike will be different for different models. As per the company, the hike has been implemented because there has been an increase in various input costs.
The company has also released a statement, wherein the company specified, “Over the past year, the cost of Company’s vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Therefore, it has become imperative for the Company to pass on some impact of the above additional costs to customers through a price hike.”
This is the second time that a price hike has been announced by the company in the present year 2022.
In January, we shared that Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) it has increased the prices of its models by up to 4.3 percent with immediate effect. This step has been taken to partially offset the impact of the rise in input costs. The company has enhanced prices across its models in the range of 0.1 percent to 4.3 percent owing to an increase in various input costs.
MSIL Increased Prices Three Times Last Year
Maruti Suzuki has already hiked the vehicle prices three times last year. It increase prices by 1.4 percent in January, 1.6 percent in April, and 1.9 percent in September, taking the total quantum to 4.9 percent.
In December 2021, the company had stated that it has been forced to hike prices due to the increase in the cost of essential commodities like steel, aluminum, copper, plastic and precious metals over the last year.
Maruti Suzuki had also announced that it had exported a total of 205,450 units from its manufacturing facilities in India in 2021.
