This 135-Yr Old Company Will Hire 3000 Indians In Hyderabad; Sets Up New Office

The State government is continuing with its efforts to get big players to set up their operations in Telangana. The State government has been successful in getting German MNC Bosch Global Software Technologies to set up its operations in Hyderabad.

The proposed facility, which is also focused on research and development, will provide employment to about 3,000 people, Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao said.

In this connection, top officials of the company met with the Minister on Tuesday.

“German MNC and a world leader in mobility, industrial engineering and home appliances has chosen Hyderabad as a strategic location with its Bosch Global Software Technologies and R&D presence. The proposed facility will provide employment to about 3,000 people,” Rama Rao announced on Twitter.

As demand for IT jobs increases, demand for office space will increase

In the IT industry, every job creates the demand for a 100 square feet office space. For 3,000 people, the corresponding demand will be a minimum of 1,00,000 square feet if the company works in three shifts. The demand for commercial spaces will increase if the number of shifts reduce, said a real estate player when explaining the link between employment generation and commercial office space demand.

The new announcement comes at a time when Telangana State and the Centre have been involved in a slugfest over the non-existent support to the State from the latter. Rama Rao has highlighted the BJP Government’s apathy towards Telangana, and has been appealing to the Centre to support Telangana as provided in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

What is Bosch?

Bosch has a global footprint and a presence in the US, Europe, Japan, China, Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. Earlier, the company was called Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Private Limited (RBEI) and recently it has changed its name to Bosch Global Software Technologies. The new name has been in use since January 3. Its key focus is on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, computer vision and other new technologies.

According to reports, the company is looking to hire more than 5,500 engineers in 2022. The company will strengthen its industry-academia collaborations, start-ups and partners for co-innovation and co-engineering.
