PwC plans to invest up to Rs 1,600 crore and generate over 10,000 new jobs in India over the next five years

PwC India which currently employs roughly 15,000 people announced on Wednesday that it plans to invest up to Rs 1,600 crore and generate 10,000 new jobs over the next five years.

Announcing its new business strategy ‘The New Equation’, PwC India said the firm will also increase its campus hiring by over five times in the same period.

According to a press release, the New Equation is based on trend analysis and thousands of talks with clients and stakeholders.

“India has strong economic fundamentals, a huge advantage in the form of its demographic dividend and an ecosystem to boost innovation. Our new strategy will enable us and our clients to further the country’s economic development, harness the potential of the domestic market and create more opportunities for society at large,” said Sanjeev Krishan, Chairman PwC in India said.

According to the press release, PwC plans to invest up to Rs 1,600 crore and generate over 10,000 new jobs in India over the next five years, with a substantial portion of those employees coming in the areas of digital, cloud, cyber, analytics, and emerging technologies.

 PwC Will Enhance Focus On Existing Tech-led Alliances 

In the next five years, PwC also plans to increase its focus on existing tech-led alliances.

It aims to strive for a minimum of 40% gender diversity.

According to the statement, the firm will continue to invest at least 1% of revenue in upskilling employees and partners, as well as establish a PwC Research Institute to assist clients in identifying emerging trends across industries.
