Permanent Work From Home For 74,000 Employees Of This IT Company! Hybrid Work Model For Every Employee Now

Cisco, the global networking giant is now introducing a hybrid workplace model for all of its employees. This will enable its employees to select whether they want to continue working from home permanently.

There are as many as 75000 employees in Cisco and all of them would be getting to choose to permanently work from home.

Cisco Announces Hybrid Working Model For 75000 Employees

As per reports, the company is planning on converting its physical office spaces into centres of collaboration. Employees will be able to use them whenever required.

A blog post was released by the company on Thursday by the EVP and Chief People, Policy & Purpose Officer of Cisco, Francine Katsoudas, which clarified that the new world of working will be hybrid for the entire workforce of Cisco.

The blog says, “Whether that means you work five days a week at home and gather with your team for activities and connection every once in a while, or you are in office five days of the week leveraging the collaborative office configuration and technology to connect to your colleagues around the world.”

She has also stated that remote working is not new for the company and in early 2020, when the entire company was working remotely, the transition was not quite difficult. Apparently, there are employees who have worked with the company from remote locations for more than decades and never actually had a desk in a Cisco office.

Why Did Cisco Announce Hybrid Model?

The primary reason for the company adopting the hybrid model is that 77% of the employees preferred to work remotely. Anupam Trehan, Senior Director, People and Communities, Cisco India and SAARC, has revealed that in an internal survey, 77% of the employees globally prefer to work outside of the office three-five days per week, as compared to the 63% of employees who worked in the office for three-five days per week before the pandemic.

Cisco India’s 12500 employees started working from home after the lockdown was announced. Before the pandemic, Cisco’s workforce was concentrated in 10 major cities, who are now working in 300 cities across the country.

Cisco is reportedly challenging itself as  Fortune’s World’s Best Workplace for the second consecutive year to becoming the “World’s Best Hybrid Workplace.”
