Variants

The HTX Plus AT 1.5 Diesel model has been phased out. It has introduced two new midsize SUV models to its lineup. The 115hp, the 1.5-litre petrol engine is now available with an iMT gearbox in the mid-spec HTK+ trim, and there’s a new higher-spec GTX(O) Turbo trim that’s only available with a manual gearbox.

Features

In terms of features, the entry-level HTE version receives some extra equipment, as does any other variant. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available on HTK trims, and remote engine start is available on HTK+ trims. The HTK+ with iMT also includes beige seat upholstery, a controlled sunroof, and an automatic climate control feature.

Protection features including ESC, hill-start assist, stability control, and brake assist are now standard on HTX trims. The infotainment system now supports a wider range of voice commands to monitor features such as the sunroof, driver’s side power window, air conditioning vents, and front defogger. This trim also comes with a built-in air purifier.

Black and brown leatherette seat covers have been added to the HTX+ model, while beige and black leatherette seat covers with red stitching have been added to the GTX(O) model. Meanwhile, paddle shifters have been added to the GTX+ trim level.

When it comes to engines and transmissions, the Kia Seltos now has seven powertrain options, thanks to the inclusion of the latest iMT transmission.

The Korean brand has also introduced a new gearbox option for the Seltos this time around the iMT ‘clutchless manual.’ In total, 17 new features are added to the SUV, many of which are firsts in the category.

Engine

The 1.5-litre petrol engine now comes with six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, and CVT transmission options, producing 115 horsepower.

The 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine is still available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The previously available 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions are still available for the 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Engine And Gearboxes

The Kia Sonet has been launched in India with introductory prices starting at Rs 6.71 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

When it comes to gearboxes and engines, the Sonet comes with both petrol and diesel engines. The first of the two petrol engines is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated model with 83hp and 115Nm of torque.

This engine is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission and is only available in the lower trim levels. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 120hp and 175Nm of torque is the other choice. This engine is available with a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

When fitted with the 6-speed manual gearbox, the diesel engine is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces 100hp and 240Nm. It produces 115hp and 250Nm when equipped with the 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox (up by 15hp and 10Nm).

The Sonet is currently the only compact SUV with a diesel-torque converter gearbox combination on the market.

Features

Kia loads its models with features, and the Sonet is no exception. It has a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, cruise control, an air purifier, a Bose audio system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the brand’s ‘UVO’ connected car technology in HTX+ shape.

The top-spec GTX+ trim will additionally get six airbags, ESC, front parking sensors, an all-black cabin and a wireless phone charger.
