These Popular Kia Seltos, Sonet Models Will Be Discontinued Forever: Checkout Full Details

Kia Motors will be discontinuing the HTK Plus trim of Sonet and Seltos HTX Plus trim in India.

Kia Motors will be discontinuing certain variants from its SUV lineup- Sonet and Seltos in India.

With immediate effect, the company has given official notice to its dealer partners dated April 1, 2021, instructing them to stop taking bookings for the aforementioned models.

According to the email sent to dealers, this decision was taken based on customer reviews and booking trends. Previously, Kia had slimmed down the Selto range and discontinued models that didn’t sell well.

Dealers To Stop Accepting Bookings For Specific Variants

The HTK Plus trim of Sonet in both- a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit paired to a DCT gearbox and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox will be discontinued.

On the other side, the Seltos HTX Plus trim, which uses the same 1.5-litre oil burner, has been discontinued. The 6-speed automatic gearbox has been eliminated in this case as well.

The carmaker will publicly announce the details of the updated Sonet and Seltos lineup later. An updated list of Seltos and Sonet variants is expected to be released shortly. The change is part of the company’s strategy to rationalise variants for both the models

The Korean Brand To Get Its New Logo In India

Kia Corporation is a multinational automobile manufacturer that entered the Indian market in July 2019. Kia made a grand debut in India by launching the first Kia car in India, i.e. Kia Seltos SUV. It is set to receive its second set of feature update and the new model will reportedly become available for retail in the country soon.

The Kia Seltos will be the first product from the Korean brand to get its new logo in India.

The first formal offering in India appears to be due for an update now.

Seltos top trims will be updated with a panoramic sunroof. We expect Kia Motors India to include this feature in the new Seltos, particularly because its main competitor, the Hyundai Creta, already has the forthcoming Kia SUV will continue to be available with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
