Kia Sold 16 Cars/Hour In 17 Months; Sets New Record With 2 Lakh Sales Since India Debut!

Kia Motors, in a short span of only 2 years in India, has seen a huge rise in popularity – the car maker has sold as many as 200,000 units of domestic sales with only three models to offer!

Kia Motors India, spanned across a 536-acre manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh made its debut in India in July 2019.

Kia Motors Announces Sale Of 200,000 Units In 2 Years With Only Three Models

On Monday, the South Korean automobile manufacturer announced that it has sold as many as 200,000 units of wholesale domestic sales!

The three products that Kia Motors has launched in India are Kia Seltos, Kia Carnival, and Kia Sonet, which were launched in that order.

Kia’s cars flaunt quite modern features such as the UVO; as much as 53% of the total sales of Kia are compatible with UVO mobile connections. In short, more than 106,000 such units have been bought by customers.

Kia Motors made an entry into the automobile market with Kia Seltos on June 20, 2019. It was pitted against the Hyundai Creta in the mid-size SUV segment. The car comes with three engine options — a 1.5-liter petrol engine, a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine.  Adding to that are the car’s features – a power-adjustable driver seat, a 7-inch multi-information display, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, and a sunroof.

Kia’s India Profile Expanding

Next in line by Kia was the Kia Carnival. This car was launched in India on 5 February 2020 and comes with a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine, paired with an eight speed automatic transmission and is available in three variants – Premium, Prestige, and Limousine. The features on this car are three-zone climate control, dual-panel sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and 10.1-inch touchscreen display for middle-row entertainment.

The last one by Kia Motors is the Kia Sonet – this car has been the one that helped shoot up Kia’s popularity. While being launched in the extremely competitive sub-compact SUV segment, Kia Motors launched it in the festive season and thats what boosted the sales of the car.
