Netflix Blog Reveals: 80% Members Of Netflix Watched A Movie Every Week
As per the blog by Netflix, 80% of the members of Netflix subscribers in India watched a film every week.
The blog states that Raat Akeli Hai has been the most watched thriller on Netflix. Extraction, Malang and The Old Guard follow have been named as the most popular action films, and Ludo has been named the most popular comedy film.
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (Telugu), Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (Tamil), Kappela (Malayalam), and Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya (Telugu) are also among India’s Top 10 row.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl has been the most popular drama film on Netflix in 2020. Some other popular films and series include Guilty, Masaba Masaba, Bulbul, She, Miss India and Never Have I Ever, and Emily in Paris.
Non fiction series attracted a lot of attention this year, with the growth rate more than 250% in 2020 over 2019. The popular shows include Too Hot to Handle, Indian Matchmaking, and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
Viewership Of Documentaries On Netflix Increased By 100%
The viewership of documentaries has also increased by 100% than what was in 2019. Bad Boy Billionaires, The Social Dilemma, and Money Heist: The Phenomenon have been the most popular documentaries on Netflix in India.
In the romantic category, the films that were watched the most were Love Aaj Kal, Ginny Weds Sunny, and Mismatched. The viewership for romantic stories on Netflix has increased by about 250%, as compared to 2019.
The blog also mentions the German series Dark which has been on the Top 10 row in India for 95 days, Spanish series Money Heist, which has been in the Top 10 row for 170 days.
The Turkish series The Protector is also ranked among the most popular titles in the fantasy genre in 2020. It is also the non-Indian, non-English title that was watched the most with subtitles and/or dubs.
