NASDAQ-listed Indian travel giant MakeMyTrip saw its share price jump by 6.75% on Monday as the news of Moderna’s vaccine being 94.5% effective hit the market.
But there is a reason why MakeMyTrip is India’s biggest online travel aggregator (OTA). It is an adaptable company and even though business was down 95% in the first quarter they have come up with a “Special bubble holiday” to address the safety conscious travellers
What is the “Bubble Holiday”?
Keeping “safety” at the epicentre, MakeMyTrip has devised a new travel concept aimed at serving conscious travellers who want safety assured vacation around Christmas Holiday.
The specially curated package shall include :-
· Prior Covid-testing
· Sanitized cabs for transfers
· Charter flights with middle row vacant
· MySafety assured luxury stays
This is currently offered for Delhi to Goa.
Utmost care about end to end safety has been taken by the OTA leader, also providing flexibility and in-destination itinerary.
In order to minimise any outside interaction, MMT plans to lease out a part of the entire property for the duration of the holiday for the bubble holiday travellers.
Special arrangements like a separate designated area for meals will be made for this travel group during their vacation at the Hotel premises to extend complete safety.
The options to partake in local or on-premise activities organized by the hotel together with MakeMyTrip such as :-
· Indoor activities ( Badminton, Table Tennis, Xbox)
· Games on the beach ( Cricket, Football, Volleyball)
· Water sports – Jet Ski, Parasailing )
among others are also offered to the travellers.

The bookings will be open starting from 24th November for travellers planning their travel around December. The bookings can be done on the website and franchise partner network.
Even though MMT has responded creatively as well as responsibly to fulfil the needs of travellers while evolving with new trends. Streamlining logistics while minimizing interaction would be a challenge in order to create a holiday that will be safe, seamless and self-contained to ensure you can focus on just your holiday.

While MMT has managed to offer the first in industry, unique value proposition in the form of safe bubble travel, it will be interesting to see how well it is received by travellers.
