Air India’s International Flights Expands: 80 Flights To US/Canada, 80 Flights To Europe (Full Details Here)

As the lockdown is being lifted slowly and steadily, the aviation industry has observed high demand for tickets for the US and the UK. This has led to the aviation ministry giving up speed to the third phase of the Vande Bharat mission and add some more Air India flights that will begin journeys every day from June 10.

80 Flights To Travel From India To UK, US, Canada; 165 To Travel To Gulf Countries

As a part of the third phase of the Vande Bharat mission the aviation ministry has announced that Air India and it’s subsidiary Air India express will have 80 flights traveling to Europe. Not only that but it has also been announced that 80 flights will travel to the US and Canada as well along with 165 flights travelling to the gulf countries the travelling of these flights will begin from June 10 and will carry on till June 30, 2020.

Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri took to Twitter saying, “Starting immediately, Phase 3 of VBM (Vande Bharat Mission) will have 80 flights to Europe (2 daily flights to London and 2 to other European destinations) between now and 30 June; and 10 more flights to US-Canada in addition to 70 already announced.”

The minister Hardeep Singh Puri has also announced that there will be 58 more flights that will take the responsibility of evacuating standard and distressed citizens of India from the gulf countries between now and June 30th, 2020. He said that under the third phase of the Vande Bharat mission the number of flights from the gulf was planned to be 107 which has now been extended to 165. 

Overwhelming Demand From Travelers Since Air India Opened Bookings

As per reports, there was an overwhelming demand from travellers when Air India had opened up the bookings for flights to travel 2 destinations such as the USA Canada UK and Europe under the third phase of the Vande Bharat mission.

Additionally, Puri also revealed that they have been more than 70000 citizens who returned home safely and about 17000 traveled out of India on the Vande Bharat mission flights till date. Also about 110,000 travelers transported out and 55000 were brought back on more than 7:30 charters on foreign and Indian carriers that were permitted by the DGCA. He also revealed that they are seeking permission for more such flights.

As per reports, Air India and its subsidiary Air India express resume their operations of international flights under the Vande Bharat mission. The first phase of the Vande Bharat mission was from May 7 216 after which the second phase began.
