Teleperformance Firing 3000 Indian Employees From 19 Cities; NITES Files Complaint With Labor Ministry

A fresh complaint has been filed against French BPO major: Teleperformance for firing employees across India, and stopping their salaries.

This complaint has been filed by National Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), a nonprofit organization dedicated to help IT and ITeS employees across the nation.

Teleperformance Firing Employees From 19 Cities

As per information coming in, Frech BPO major Teleperformance is firing thousands of Indian employees, from 19 cities.

As per Harpreet Saluja, Founder & General Secretary, National Information Technology Employees Senate NITES, Teleformance is not only reducing salaries, but firing  employees from 19 cities across India.

These cities are: Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Indore, Vadodara, Surat, Ahmedabad, Vizag, Bhubaneshwar, Cochin, Vijaywada, Bhopal, Ernakulam.

NITES Files Complaint With Labor Ministry Against Teleperformance

Based on the complaints received by NITES, they have filed a complaint with Labor Ministry regarding this massive firing by Teleperformance.

In the letter to the Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Ministry of Labour & Employment, NITES said, “Most respectfully we would like to bring to your notice that we have received numerous complaints from employees of Teleperformance India Private Limited having corporate office at 398 Udyog Vihar Phase III Gurgaon 122016 maintain the PROFITABILITY of business under COVID – 19 Pandemic.”

As per the letter, the company is also stopping salaries of thousands of employees.

Due to this, the employment of 13,000 people is at risk.

Harpreet  said, “At this juncture, when Lockdown 4.0 has started, reputed companies like Teleperformance is ditching their loyal employees, and firing them, reducing their salaries. We have received numerous complaints from these employees, who are feeling helpless right now. They cant apply for new jobs, cant go out, and their company for which they worked so hard, is not helping them. We have filed a complaint with the Honorable Minister and we hope action will be taken.”

We had earlier reported how Teleperformance has fired around 100 employees in Pune, for which Labor Commissioner had issued a notice as well.
