IT major Cognizant has already announced that they will hire around 26,000 freshers in India, who will be mainly engineering graduates.
But now, as per new reports coming in, Cognizant is giving extra push to hire sales experts.

Cognizant Will Hire 500 Digital Sales Experts
As per Malcolm Frank, president of Cognizant Digital Business, Cognizant is creating a specialized sales team, which will have 500 sales expert.
These will be digital sales experts, having knowledge of SaaS companies, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
He said, “Out of the 500 sales people (the company is hiring), a large proportion has digital skill set. So, we have sales specialist, who work with leading SaaS players like Amazon’s AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure,”
Besides, some sales experts will be from Internet of Things (IoT) background as well.
What Is The Reason For Sales Experts?
Cognizant is now ramping up their digital profile, as majority of their revenues are coming in from digital technologies.
Infact, in 2019, Cognizant churned out 35% of their revenues from digital technologies and related projects.
Now, in order to further make inroads, and grab more projects, they are building a sales team, which will help them make more inroads.
Overall 25,000 Freshers Will Be Hired
Overall, Cognizant is all set to hire 25,000 freshers in India, and these will be primarily engineering graduates.
As per various media reports, mid-level managers are being removed from the company, and low-cost freshers are being hired to increase their profitability.
Business Standard reported, “The IT services firm is also rationalising its employee pyramid by hiring more fresh graduates. It had earlier said the company would remove 10,000-12,000 mid- to senior-level employees and redeploy about 5,000 of those impacted.”
