While Realme is soaring high with its new Realme 5 series, it could soon cut short, courtesy goes to the upcoming Redmi Note 8 series. Xiaomi is all set disrupt the budget smartphone market once again, and this time they have new quad camera devices to take on Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro.

The details about the regular Note 8 smartphone has been confirmed, and they seem a lot better than Realme 5 at under Rs 10,000.

The upcoming Redmi Note series phones will include two devices as the predecessor series: Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Both the new Redmi Note 8 series smartphones will launch on August 29 in China, and India next month in September. With a few days from launch, some of  the key details of the upcoming Note 8 are confirmed.

Redmi Note 8 Full Spec List: Redmi Note 8 Confirmed Details

The regular Redmi Note 8 will see a massive upgrade over the current Redmi Note 7 and Note 7S smartphones. The Redmi Note 8 series smartphones will come with the same dot drop notch displays with increased screen-to-body ratio and smaller bezels and chin.

The Redmi Note 8 series phones will also have a similar design language as Redmi Note 7 series devices with Gorilla Glass 5 support.

Redmi Note 8 has been officially confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, the same processor as the launched Xiaomi Mi A3 and Realme 5

It’s an upgrade over the current Snapdragon 660 processor on Redmi Note 7. It features a new imaging processor and better cores.

Unlike Redmi Note 8 Pro, the regular Note 8 will come with a triple camera system on the rear panel. The camera specs confirm that Redmi Note 8 will come with a primary 48MP main camera, expected to be the Sony IMX586 sensor.

It would make Redmi Note 8 the first smartphone to come with a Sony IMX586 48MP sensor at under 10,000 rupees.

The other sensors will include a secondary Super Wide Angle and the third is going to be a depth sensor. If Xiaomi chooses to go with a four camera system, then the additional sensors will include a Depth of Field lens and a Super Macro lens.

Redmi Note 8 will have a larger battery this time, an upgrade over the current 4,000mAh unit. It has been confirmed that Note 8 will come with a larger 4,500mAh battery supporting 18W fast charging. Though, Redmi Note 8 may come bundled with a 10W charger inside the box and not a fast charger.

Redmi Note 8 India Launch: Redmi Note 8 India Price

Redmi Note 8 will come at under 1,000 Yuan (around Rs 10,000 when converted). It is expected to come at a similar price as Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 8 India price may start at Rs 9,999, or around. The upcoming Redmi Note 8 series may be unveiled in China first on August 29. The leaks suggest the given date, and with the official promo out, the Note 8 series launch seems imminent.

Coming to Redmi Note 8 series India launch, it shouldn’t take much time. Within a couple of weeks, the Redmi Note 8 series should land in the country.

The Note 8 series devices have been already certified in China. Looking at the past, the Redmi Note 8 India launch will happen just within a few weeks after China launch, most probably by the end of September.

The company will unveil both the Note 8 smartphones at the same time in the country: Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The base variant of Redmi Note 8 will come at around Rs 10,000 in India.

The company is expected to continue its trend in the country with the new series. Redmi Note 8 will be priced in line with Realme 5 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India will be close to Realme 5 Pro. The regular Note 8 will be launched in the sub-10K segment, while the Note 8 Pro in India will be launched in the sub-15K.
