Hiring In Top Five Indian IT Companies Increased By 57%
India’s top software organizations have together hired 57% more employees in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019. TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra have collectively hired more than 27,300 employees, compared to a net addition of 17,383 of the same time last year.
Artificial intelligence, automation and the overall growth of technology had slowed down the rate of hiring for software engineers, but that time is probably gone now.
Rituparna Chakraborty, co-founder, Teamlease Services and president, Indian Staffing Federation said, “The disturbing phase of the IT sector is behind us. Essentially, they have chalked out the future now and the hiring numbers are a reflection.”
While the numbers won’t be the same as they were before such massive progress in technology, there will definitely be an improvement in the hiring rate soon.
Indian IT Companies Looking IT Professionals With These Skills
Some of the leading companies in India are looking for IT professionals who are experienced in digital technology, and are ready to put in a massive quantity of investments in digital technology to yield better results, and cut down costs. Some of these companies include Vedanta, Tata Steel, RPG, Philips, Schneider Electric, Whirlpool and Dabur.
Skills such as Data Analytics, AI, Natural Language Processing, Cloud Computing, Data Science, Chatbots, Robotic Process Automation are in great demand and will continue to be in demand for years to come.
Madhu Srivastava, group chief human resource officer at diversified miner Vedanta said, “We hire tech professionals because it makes business sense. It saves us man-hours, reduces down-time and risk, which directly affect the bottom-line.”
R Suresh, who is the founder of an executive search consultancy called Insist, sais that digital technology is integrated in a number of sectors such as manufacturing, marketing, research and development, and human resources as well.
