So after a plethora of leaks and rumours, finally we have a set of specifications which sound like the third generation Mi A series. Xiaomi’s first Android One smartphones turned out to be a huge success, and the company plans to follow up with a super series up next.
Just like Mi A2 series, the company will launch two smartphones under the new series: Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite.
India didn’t get the Mi A2 Lite, but later the device launched as rebranded Redmi 6 Pro with MIUI. We still don’t know whether Mi A3 Lite will launch in India or not, but definitely Mi A3 is coming to the country at a price very similar to Redmi Note 7 Pro and upcoming Redmi K20, or between them.
Xiaomi has an upcoming launch happening in the country next week, the Redmi K20 series.
Mi A3 Series Specs Leaked: Mi A3 Full Specs, Mi A3 Lite Full Specs
The report of Xiaomi Mi A3 series being rebranded the newly launched Mi CC9 series seem to be very valid. While the smartphones are yet to be confirmed, they seem to be rebranded CC9 smartphones for different global markets.
The previous generation Mi A series smartphones: Mi A1 and Mi A2 were rebranded Mi 5X and Mi 6X respectively without MIUI.
Similarly, the Mi A3 series will be rebranded some already launched Mi series smartphones. As Mi X series devices are discontinued, the Mi CC series will launch as the new Mi A generation smartphones. The new report supports the development of next generation Xiaomi Mi A3 series running on Snapdragon 730 chip, 48MP camera sensors and full-screen displays.
Starting with the design, the Mi A3 devices will have a similar design as the company’s newly launched Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e.
The upcoming Mi A3 will sport a triple camera setup. The details are not out yet, but they will probably have the same setup as the upcoming Redmi K20. The smartphone packs in a rear three camera system comprising of a 48MP lens.
The Mi A3 Lite on the other hand may come with a dual camera system at the back.
Both the A3 devices will feature a full-screen display. The original Mi A3 will probably come with a dot-notch display, or may come with an upgraded full-screen display featuring a pop-up sensor as Redmi K20. The Lite model will come with the notched display only.
Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite are going to be Android One certified devices, so both will run on the latest Android OS with guaranteed upgrades till next two Android versions and regular security updates. You can experience the same smartphone experience as on a Google Pixel device.
Under the hood, Mi A3 will run on the Snapdragon 730 SoC, the new Qualcomm chip based on an 8nm architecture. The Mi A3 Lite on the other hand will come with Snapdragon 675 SoC, 11nm chip used on Redmi Note 7 Pro. They will couple with Adreno 618 GPU and Adreno 612 GPU respectively.
Mi A3 India Launch: Mi A3 Price In India, Mi A3 India Price
Both Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite will be budget and mid-range smartphones. We still don’t know whether Mi A3 Lite will launch in India or not, but definitely Mi A3 is coming to the country at a price very similar to Redmi Note 7 Pro and upcoming Redmi K20, or between them.
Coming to the price, the Mi A3 India price will lie around 16,000 rupees. It already has Note 7 Pro up the order, and Redmi K20 will target the sub-18,000 segment.
According to the rumours, the Mi A3 devices may launch in India soon. Most probably the Mi A3 India launch may happen in the month of August. Redmi K20 series will launch on July 17 in the country, and the Mi A3 launch could happen in the following month.
