Google India has just released their annual ‘Year in Search’ 2018 report, which gives us strong indications about what India was looking for in 2018.

The biggest change which we witnessed is the rise of Priya Varrier in the Google search trends – She has beaten Sunny Leone, who used to be the reigning personality searched by Indians.

Meanwhile, OnePlus has beaten all other smartphone brands to emerge as the #1 brand searched by Indians on Google.

Priya Varrier, the 18-year old Malayalam actress who shot to fame after her ‘winking’ video clip went viral, has finally beaten Sunny Leone, the Bollywood superstar who was #1 on Google searches till now.

Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra’s husband climbed to #2 position, whereas Priyanka Chopra was herself ranked #4. Sapna Choudhary, whose dance moves had conquered Youtube views, is ranked #3.

India’s love for Whatsapp is not hidden, and the same is reflected in the Google searches as well. ‘How to send Whatsapp stickers’ climbed to #1 position this year, followed by ‘How to link Aadhaar with mobile’ at #2, and ‘How to make Rangoli’ at #3.
