BSNL Declares Victory Over Airtel, Vodafone, Idea; Claims Better Growth Rate!

BSNL has beaten Airtel?

If you had assumed that in the face of cut-throat competition in the telecom market, BSNL has lost the race, then think again.

If you had thought that Jio and Airtel will corner all the market (which is left after Jio tsunami), then it is time to think again, because BSNL has just declared themselves a winner in the race to acquire new users.

BSNL Chairman Anupam Shrivastava has revealed some interesting facts and viewpoints, in an interview.

Checkout what all he has said!

BSNL Beats Airtel, Vodafone In Driving Growth

As per BSNL Chairman Anupam Shrivastava, BSNL’s net percentage addition during 2017-18 has been 11.5%, which more than Airtel, Idea and Vodafone.

In the same period, while Airtel registered growth of 9.5%, Vodafone grew by 3.8%, and Idea grew by 3.2%.

He said, “This itself is a testimony that our mobile network is appreciated by consumers.”

Why BSNL Ignored 4G?

In the interview, Anupam made it clear that BSNL intentionally ignored 4G, because they knew that by the time they will start generating ROI on 4G network, the time of 5G would have come.

We have already reported that BSNL is determined to launch India’s first 5G network, and for this, they have partnered with several telecom companies.

At the same time, they have already launched 4G network in Kerala and Karnataka.

Anupam has also revealed that BSNL will spend Rs 4300 crore this year, to expand their WiFi services, and to improve their network infrastructure.
