Google and Twitter have had a stint together since 2009 to early this year, when finally the two decided to drift away. However, after a few months, the two are back again and with a new interesting feature that is sure to cheer the Twitter fans.
Starting today, you can search on Google by simply tweeting the emoji at Google on Twitter. Twitter and emojis go long back, since a picture is capable to saying a lot more than just words. Emojis have become a significant part of our language now and almost everyone uses them.
Google will enable Twitter to understand the emoji tweeted and respond with interesting GIFs and google search results. For example, if you tweet a pizza emoji @Google, you will get results for pizza joints around you.

According to a report by Mashable, Google says the feature will work with over 200 different emoji for food, sites and activities near you. It’s also promising some “Easter eggs.” There isn’t a full list of emojis Twitter will support but expect it to understand the simplest and the most popular ones.
It is not official if Twitter is doing it just for fun, and only till New Year’s, because your twitter feed will be full of people tagging emojis at Google. It could get a bit annoying and Twitter might take it off soon, if it goes out of hands.
This feature will work only on an Android device and on the stock Twitter app, so all the third-party Twitter apps won’t respond to this gesture. Twitter hasn’t confirmed about this development for iOS devices, but we think Google is just trying to promote its own platform on different social media sites.
It might not go down well with millions of Apple iPhone users around the world. The feature isn’t something that will enhance your experience on Twitter, but seems something good to have.
