Now Paytm Accepted at Mother Dairy Booths in Delhi-NCR and Cinepolis across India

Paytm is growing at a staggering pace and their offline push model seems to be have been working well with both merchants and consumers. Early this year Paytm partnered with PVR and INOX for providing payment solutions and now Paytm has added another feather to its hat.

Paytm has tied-up with Cinepolis, an international movie theatre chain in India, to allow customers to book their movie tickets using Paytm wallet. Cinepolis has around 215 screens all over India under the brand names of Cinépolis, Cinépolis VIP and Fun Cinemas, with a goal to have 400 screens by 2017.

Talking about the partnership, Renu Satti, VP – Paytm, said, “At Paytm, we are committed to bring to our consumers what they love the most. When it comes to entertainment, it goes without saying that online movie ticketing wins the race. With Cinepolis’ strong presence across the country, we aim to offer multiple alternatives to our cinema lovers.”

Paytm has also tied-up with Mother Dairy for offline payments, as compared to Cinepolis’ online mobile wallet payments, across Delhi-NCR. National Dairy Development Board will start with about 100 Mother Dairy outlets participating in the collaboration and the outlet numbers will be scaled up in the coming months.

In the third phase, 350 Safal outlets will also be added to the portfolio. For offline payment, once the cashier generates the bill at the desk, a QR code for one outlet will be generated which can be scanned by the customer to pay for the products bought.

How Paytm plans to take it forward?

Paytm’s collaboration with PVR, INOX and now Cinepolis practically gives Bookmyshow a run for its money. Some few prominent cinema chains like DT Cinemas haven’t yet come under the hood, but the three large ones discussed above will give Paytm’s business enough boost.

Paytm has its digital wallet and Bookmyshow has discounts, coupons and credit card offers which are quite useful these days. Bookmyshow’s customer base is huge and Paytm needs to bring in more innovative offers and discounts to lure customers.

On the other hand, milk, dairy products and groceries are a daily necessity and this will surely revolutionize how people buy basic things everyday. Not only will it facilitate cashless payments but also increase Paytm’s reach across such grocery shops. Kirana shops are only what’s left for Paytm to conquer now.

Very recently, Paytm had tied up with multiple parking management companies and property owners across the country to facilitate parking payments for vehicle owners. Prominent Merchants like SA Parking, Secure and DAPS are already live with select parking lots and plans to scale up quickly.

Coming months can see Paytm being accepted by users earlier refraining to get the digital wallet and we hope these partnerships are successful. Offline push is a bigger deal now and you can try the payment method at a Mother Dairy store near you!
