Now, Have Election Talks With NaMo, Kejriwal On Facebook Talks!

Social Media sites are now slowly becoming the defacto platforms when it comes to online political campaigning. BJP Prime ministerial candidate has shown time and again as to how to effectively use Facebook and Twitter to effectively spread the message across the masses.

While political campaigning is one part, avenues like Google Hangouts and Facebook Talks become effective mediums for holding political interviews and debates. Many Google hangouts sessions have already been conducted where common citizens have directly interacted with celebrities, politicians and policy makers.

Now, Facebook is bringing together the top political contenders for 2014 Indian general elections on their “Facebook Talks” platform. In this live season, anyone can participate and ask people like Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav on how they will govern India and what are their priorities and agendas.

This is a joint initiative by Facebook, online magazine Newlaundry.com and TV channel NDTV.

Interested participants will need to post their questions to candidates on Facebook India page and Editor -in Chief of newslaundry.com, Madhu Trehan will put those questions across on “Facebook Talks Live” which will be telecast LIVE on news channel NDTV and also live-streamed on .

It is interesting that Rahul Gandhi, potentially the PM candidate from Congress is not participating in this. Probably, his farcical interview with Arnab Goswami seems to be the reason.

If you have questions that you need answers to from any of these 5 politician, make sure you participate. You can start posting your questions from today (20th Feb 2014). The Facebook talks like will be telecast from March 3rd to March 8th between 8pm and 9pm.

So, what will your questions be?
